RELIABILITY ENGINEERING

As an extension to our Systems Engineering capability, CPC ensures that product reliability and safety are carefully incorporated into the designs we produce. At Control Point, we rely on tested engineering techniques and best practices aimed at optimizing the reliability and safety of critical systems. These techniques include:

  • Reliability Design Analysis

  • Design Optimization for Reliability Improvement
  • Analysis of Environments and Equipment Responses

We use commercial tools and an extensive knowledge base to develop predictions, reliability block diagrams, FMECA and fault tree models of systems. Our engineers are proficient in the use of Pro-E MECHANICA and Thermal Desktop to perform vibration, shock and thermal analyses to assess loads and physics-of-failure mechanisms. CALCE analysis techniques are used to assess low- and high-cycle fatigue effects on circuit card assemblies.

Our safety engineers perform hazard analyses of complex systems using fault tree analysis techniques to assess risks, develop, and evaluate fault tolerant system designs.
